Artist Statement
Working primarily in the acrylic medium, his practice is guided by the ever-changing human experience rather than confined to a singular style. His body of work ranges from realistic impressionism that explores social perspectives to abstract expressionism that offers commentary on contemporary society through a personal lens. His work is a personal reflection of his own human experience and observations that rely on thoughtful epiphanies that excite him. Each collection differs in style, with some being harmonious in design while others harmonious in theme. The art is made for him, but for you to observe. His process is quite methodic from the initial epiphany all the way to the paint on canvas with the planning phase being the longest period. By the time paint is being put on canvas, the idea has been worked out in his head day and night, sketched out for composition and the colour palette has been carefully assembled or discovered.
Refusing to be boxed into one category, MigyB complements his paintings with thoughtfully produced video content that delves deeper into the themes and stories behind each piece. His unique approach fosters a strong emotional connection with viewers, allowing his curiousity about the world to resonate across mediums.
