Miguel Bustamante (Canada, 1994)

Miguel Bustamante, known as MigyB, is a self-taught artist based out of Vancouver who grew up between Richmond and Lima, Peru. Coming from an incredibly artistic family he was surrounded and inspired by their works in acrylic, oil, sculpture, ink and mixed media. Painting began as a way to get closer to his family, but quickly blossomed into him finding his true calling as an artist; guided by life itself rather than honing in on one single style. His styles vary from realistic portraits to abstract expressionism keeping himself out of a box working primarily in the acrylic medium. He has many painting commissions under his belt and 2 successful solo art exhibitions including ‘A Spanish Fever Dream’ and The Ecstatic Beauty.’
Both exhibitions packed the venue with his unique mix of paintings and videos, which were inspired by one idea: experiences worth painting about.
